Vasily Livanov

Vasily Livanov, whose interpretation of Sherlock Holmes is one of the most rewarding, participated in the Russian productions of Conan Doyle’s stories about the famous detective, and built up a huge following in the Soviet Union.

During a visit to London Livanov gave details about the external shots of "Victorian London" that were filmed on location in Riga and Tallin. The River Thames in the Sign of Four was in fact the River Neva in St Petersburg and the Reichenbach Falls scenes were filmed in freezing Georgia!.
