New York Locations Is a most impressive site with single shots from about 150 films all made in New York. A really splendid way of superimposing stills over the real location.

The perpetrator is Christopher Moloney, a journalist. Much more about him we don’t know, but we do know that he has a left hand, with a thumb, because it appears in many of his shots holding up a b&w still in front of, and coinciding and corresponding with, the actual film location. An intriguing and novel approach to our favorite subject, and much more difficult than it first appears

Stills from Shaft and Midnight Cowboy, and there are another 150 plus on the site
